What is falling action?

The falling action is the part of a story that occurs after the <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/climax" target="_blank">climax</a> and leads to the <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/resolution" target="_blank">resolution</a>. During the falling action:

  • The consequences of the climax are explored.
  • Loose ends of the plot are tied up.
  • The conflict starts moving towards its resolution.
  • The tension decreases as the story nears its end.
  • Characters may reflect on the events of the climax and their roles in them.
  • Important information that explains the events of the story might be revealed.

In essence, the falling action bridges the gap between the peak of excitement (the climax) and the final outcome (the resolution). It provides closure and helps the reader understand the overall significance of the story.
